CZĘSTOCHOWA BLACK MADONNA

The town is famous for its Pauline Monastery of Jasna Góra which is the home of the Black Madonna painting, a shrine to the Virgin Mary. Czestochowa is Poland’s Spiritual Capital and every year millions of pilgrims from all over the world come to visit.

High on the mountain top, the monastery is the most famous shrine to the Virgin Mary in Poland and home to the Black Madonna painting, thought to have been painted by the apostole, St. Luke, the Evangelist, on a tabletop built by Jesus. The Black Madonna, depicting the Mother of God with the Christ Child, is believed to share miraculous powers to those who visit her.
It is also possible to reserve a private guided tour (only if you inform us in advance). The price for private guide is 100 PLN for maximum number of 5 people.
